Club 53 - Vermont South

Club 53 offers an easy-going, welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

The nature of our club

Easy-going, welcoming and friendly. A combination of formality and informality, as we deal with a business section at the start of each meeting, move on to a speaking program of set topics and impromptu talks, and conclude with a helpful assessment from our resident critic, and finally supper. We welcome a wide range of speaking styles, from PowerPoint presentations to off-the-cuff improvisations.

What do we offer members?

  • the opportunity to improve your speaking prowess in the way you want.  Our Training Officer, George Gosbell, devises a speaking program tailored to your needs

  • informed and helpful assessments from our President and Critic, Peter Tredrea

  • camaraderie and a supportive environment

Where and when?

We meet Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm at the Australian Road Research Bureau, 500 Burwood Highway, Vermont South. Meetings conclude at 9:00 pm with coffee/tea and biscuits available afterwards. There is usually a break for Easter and between December and February each year.

What facilities are available?

Video-taping, a microphone, a podium, an overhead projector capable of broadcasting PowerPoint or internet presentations, and kitchen area, courtesy of the ARRB.
