Training Framework
Forward to the Successful Meetings and Confident Speaking
5 Steps to Confident Speaking
Confident Speaking is based around a series of skills that are considered to be the foundation of effective public speaking. These skills are vital nowadays. For example understanding how to determine key content and purpose is essential in today's business world of power presentations.
Successful Meetings
This program is based around a series of skills that are considered basic in participating in both formal and informal meetings, and leading these meetings. The level of these skills has been pitched deliberately at the new Rostrum member, and therefore they have been kept as simple as possible. Thus, for example, this program deals with the skill of moving a motion but does not ask that the member deal with amendments to a motion. Similarly, the skill of conducting a meeting deals as much with time management and keeping the meeting interesting rather than the skills of dealing with motions. Such higher level skills are the subject of more advanced development programs.
5 Steps to Better Presentations
Better Presentations is based around a series of competencies designed to enhance those skills already possessed by many members, especially those who have already completed the Confident Speaking and Successful Meetings programs. The competencies outlined in this program are essential for people in business as they focus on the forms of spoken communications most frequently used in a work setting.
Critics Resource Manual
The Rostrum Critic is an important part of any Rostrum Club. Without solid, effective and accurate feedback, speakers cannot develop their skills as communicators.

Mentoring
People learn from other people in a variety of ways. From an early age we all have experience of learning from those who are older and usually wiser in the ways of the world. We naturally look to them for guidance and advice to meet the everyday challenges we all face. As we progress through life sometimes the learning is more formal, as in a classroom, but there still remains those puzzles of life that require a more personal relationship to unravel.
